Thread Swap

So you have signed up to Thread Swap and you want to start swapping? Here's how you do it...

1. Go through your wardrobe and find all those great clothes that you no longer wear, make sure they're in good condition though.

2. Get your digital camera and takes up to 5 photos of each. A photo of you (or a friend) wearing the item always looks really good, but also get a photo of the item lying flat on a white sheet so people can see the shape and colour really well. Lastly make sure you take the photos from directly above the item on the sheet so the perspective looks right.

3. Go to www.threadswap.com.au and sign in using the username and password you chose during the sign up. Click on the 'give' tab and then fill in ALL details listed and upload those photos you took. Be sure to put a credit value against each item. As a rough guide think how much you would want to pay for the item if it were in dollars and use that as your credit value.

4. Once you have filled in your details click the 'update' button at the bottom of the page. This may take some time as the photos get uploaded to Thread Swap. Once this process has finished you can then click the 'publish' button. All your items will show up in your 'my threads' page. In here you can edit your items and also see any items that have been taken.

So now you've got some items up, you want to take someone elses? It's easy.

1. Sign in to Thread Swap.

2. Find that item you like and click 'take this'.

3. Click 'confirm'. This item will now appear in the 'my threads' page.

4. To finalise the transaction simply click the 'pay for this' button.

5. Once finalised both you and the giver will be put in touch with each other via email.

6. It is now between you and the giver to organise pick up or delivery of the item.
