Thread Swap

Q. I see I have to register my PayPal account? What is this for?

A. Although the swapping saves you spending money, Thread Swap still needs to charge a small fee for the exchange, to cover our own costs. This percentage will work out to be minimal compared to the value of the item you are about to receive!

Q. I have uploaded an item and now I look at it I want to change the details/ picture. Can I do this?

A. Yes you can. Go to the my threads page where you'll see all your items. Hit the edit button on the item you want to edit.

Q. I have swapped an item and have not heard back again from the recipient, what can I do about this?

A. If after attempting to make contact the recipient doesn't respond you can contact us and we will help you sort things out.

Q. I have received an item that I took and it does not match the quality of its description, what can I do?

A. In this instance it's up to the taker to be aware of what they are taking. If you have any questions to ask the giver, ask them before you take to save yourself any disputes.

Q: I want to ask the seller/swapper a question about their item, how can I go about this?

A. You must be a member and logged in to ask the giver a question about their item, simply go to that item and click the ask a question button.

Q. I've signed up but I can't list my items?

A. You would have received an email confirmation of your sign up with a link that you have to click for further instructions as to how to activate your account.

Q. I got some credits after giving away an item but there are not enough to take anything, how can I get some more?

A. There are 3 ways to gain credits. Firstly if someone takes your item, you will receive the credit value that you have put against that item. Secondly, you can buy credits. The more you buy the cheaper they become. Lastly, you can get friends to sign up to Thread Swap. For every friend you get to sign up we'll give you an extra 2 credits.

Q. Can I buy credits?

A. Yes you can. Simply click on the 'buy credits' button at the top of your screen. You can choose credits starting at AUD$10 for 10 credits up to AUD$100 for 150 credits.

Q. Can I have more than one account?

A. Yes you can, but as each account has to be unique we don't reccomend this.

Q. I made a mistake with my swap and no longer want the item, can I reverse this?

A. Thread Swap does not have a cooling off period. Once you have agreed to the swap and confirmed it, it's up to you to go ahead with it. Choosing not to could mean a bad rating or at worst having your account suspended.
